Élia (Olive Tree) is a very special property, situated close to the old school (now unused) in one of the most scenic areas of the Old Village. From here you can take a lovely stroll through the village to reach the nearby shops and restaurants; or, comfortably installed on one of the house's terraces, you can enjoy spectacular views across the sea to Skopelos and other islands. The deeply relaxing absence of car and motor noise will enhance your holiday experience.
Once you step inside the house you will see and feel why we describe it as 'special'. It has recently been built, with great care, love and attention to detail, and while all the equipment and facilities are contemporary, the house itself has retained the beauty, style and authenticity of a traditional old house.
On the ground floor you will find a large open kitchen/diner/sitting room. The kitchen area is fitted with wooden cupboards and equipped with an electric cooker and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, kettle and toaster. The large dining table and a couple of comfortable chairs in the lounge area, as well as a built-in sofa/bed, invite you to relax and enjoy the company of family and friends or just to snatch a restful moment.
The large terrace, which is accessed through folding glass doors from this room, is a wonderful place to take your meals, have an evening under the stars or spend a meal chatting in company. To sit here – at the outdoor table - with a glass of wine and a view across the sparkling Aegean is about as good as it gets. And if it gets too hot (quite possible, in Greece) there is an outdoor shower to cool yourself off. Yes, that’s right, a shower with a view!
We have also thought of the practical side - on the ground floor and leading off the main room there is a utility room (apotheki) with a washing machine and a second (larger) fridge freezer. A beautiful, warmly lit, tastefully tiled shower room completes the downstairs area.
A warm wooden staircase leads to the upstairs bedrooms. Two double bedrooms, both with built-in beds and fitted cupboards, not only make cosy sleeping areas; with their warm wooden roofs and cooling breeze when the windows are open, they also guarantee a very relaxing siesta time. Bedroom one has folding glass doors opening onto the upstairs terrace with a spectacular view over the bays of Megalos Mourtias and Mikros Mourtias to Evia and Skopelos; the second bedroom also offers a wonderful view from its attractive recessed window and gives a particularly homely feel, as the old stone walls maintain the feeling of the old Alonissos houses. Completing the upstairs facilities there is a toilet and washbasin.
This is an exceptionally attractive house and the perfect setting for everything you might want from a Greek island holiday. There are several other 'Alonissos Homes' houses in the immediate neighbourhood, making 'Élia' an excellent choice – both for families and also for people visiting as part of a group.

This house does not have wifi. You can easily connect, however (in the company of a good coffee or a small Ouzo perhaps) in all the taverns and bars in the village as well as on all the beaches.
